| The following soaps were created by Kaila Westerman of TKB
Trading. She describes how she created these works of art.
Turtle
"This flat-back turtle was made by tossing green opaque nuggets into the mold, then overpouring with opaque white base."
Apple
"I am particularly pleased with my apple, made from a two-piece, three dimensional mold (the perfect teacher gift!) Into each separate half, I poured red-colored clear soap, then red-colored opaque soap, and so forth, until each half was nearly full. I fused the two halves together in the manner described above. The stem is from a real apple!"
Flower Box
"Here is an example of a Dimensional Mold. The bottom of this 'box' is a one piece mold, and requires only one pour! The top is a separate piece, and I enjoyed starting with a little pink and a little blue in the rose image, then (after these colors cooled) adding some clear, then more pink, and finally a little more clear. What can you do with a box made out of soap? How about filling it with bath salts?" |
